HOW WE MET
It was the evening of the 29th of April 2014 during Queens Night. As you know, that is a very happy and joyful night in Amsterdam with such a positive vibe in the city. We both went out that night carefree and just looking to have a good time with our friends with no idea how the night would unfold or end. We met at a brasserie in Amsterdam South and had a short talk, but that was all it took. We didn’t think much of it at first, but Daniel made the initiative to reach out and send a Facebook message. Stevie was so kind to reply… a week later. And the rest is history.

"The last step to a mature relationship."

OUR ENGAGEMENT STORY
We had a lovely holiday in Mykonos, Greece with our six month old baby boy. Our romantic beach villa was the romantic decor of Daniels proposal. While our son Raphael was wearing the engagement ring with a necklace around his neck, Daniel proposed just before we went to dinner. So instead of a normal dinner, we had a celebration dinner.

MARRIAGE TO US MEANS
The last step to a mature relationship.

"Let it go!"

A MEMORABLE MOMENT OF THE DAY
The moment we arrived at the wedding party and saw all our wedding guests together. It was so touching to see how everybody took all the effort to be dressed so well.

ONE THING WE WISH WE KNEW BEFORE WE STARTED OUR WEDDING PLANS
Do NOT check the weather! I was checking the weather the entire month leading up to our wedding. The night before the wedding, it rained sideways. We had already said no to our contingency rain plan because the forecast said all clear at the time. I couldn't think of anything else in those hours. The day of the wedding, we had beautiful, perfect weather. But even when we hadn’t it would have been fine.

"She is very positive and always tries to find a way to make things work."

IF I COULD GIVE OTHER BRIDES TO BE ONE PIECE OF ADVICE
Let it go! Enjoy everything of course, but to give more practical advice: Ensure you have a good babysitter for your child (in case of toddlers who are not able to sit still all 45 minutes of the ceremony) who can play a little and go to a quiet room to unload all of the overwhelming energy.
Before the ceremony I spent some time with my son with no one else in the room and we just calmed down together.
After that, my 2 year old walked so relaxed and with so much pride by my side to the altar!

GETTING MARRIED WITH THE HELP OF LOTTE MEANS TO US
Let's start with her personality. She is very positive and always tries to find a way to make things work. Our wedding was planned right after a huge reconstruction and move into a new house. So there is no way we could have organised the wedding without the help of Lotte. She was the stable and constant factor during all of the preparations. During the first concept phase she could streamline all of Stevie’s hysteric ideas and later on in the process she never rested until all of the to-do’s were done. It's not only about the skills she possesses, we chose her because there was a instant click in our personalities.
