A fairytale winter wedding at the family's country estate. Waking up at the day of 'I do' with a beautiful pristine white view and witnessing the sunset at the beginning of a memorable party.
HOW WE MET
At a mutual friend’s housewarming party. Strangely we had never met before, but we both left asking our friends who that person was.
OUR ENGAGEMENT STORY
I have been going to a house Greece ever since I was a small boy, so for me it was a special place. We were there in the summer with some friends. Jet knew of nothing, but I had taken her with the boat out to a beautiful white “secret” beach, where we’d hidden some champagne earlier in the day. I proposed to Jet, and upon return the friend had decorated the house and were waiting for us with more champagne and decorations. I had hired a cook to cook a meal with Jet’s favorite dishes for us all.
MARRIAGE TO US MEANS
Openly celebrating the choice for each other, the willingness to give and receive, to be caring, supportive, loving, patient and open. To be able to rely on each other’s love and the unconditional willingness to both always be working on maintaining and improving the relationship. To get the best from each other, and together to be the proof that 1+1 equals more than 2. But also as a healthy stable base for raising children.

A MEMORABLE MOMENT OF THE DAY
Besides the fantastic speeches, seeing each other for the first time on the wedding day at the church and seeing sunshine over beautifully white snowy fields, it was probably the party. For us both this was the moment where we could let go and have a lot of fun, after months of preparation. Being surrounded by so many friends, family and loved ones who are all having a good time was magical.

ONE THING WE WISH WE KNEW BEFORE WE STARTED OUR WEDDING PLANS
Start sooner with invitations. Getting them printed, addressed and sent takes quite a bit longer than one thinks!
IF I COULD GIVE OTHER BRIDES TO BE ONE PIECE OF ADVICE More than just one piece of advice:
try not to be too tied up in the logistics on the day. Things go as they go; being able to experience the day as it comes is magical. Guests don’t know the minute-to-minute plan, so don’t notice things going wrong or differently
Be prepared to go slightly over budget
Organizing the wedding can be (very) stressful at times (depending on how hands on you are), but in hindsight every second of stress was so worth it
Guests don’t read their emails!
